Anne Springs Close
Greenway
(Rock Hill, SC)
Trail
Map
Description: This
carefully planned trail system meanders through a park-like 2,200-acre
woodland north of Fort Mill. Two loops, one on either side of Steele
Creek provide approximately 12 miles of yellow blazed trail, and an
additional series of connector trails total approximately 14.5 miles of clay surface with some loam.
You will ride through peach orchards, circle three lakes, two ponds,
and cross the meandering Steele Creek. At Lake Haigler you will cross a
land bridge where you may see blue herons, beavers,
and wood ducks. If you start at the main entrance, you will ride for a
short time on the Old Nation Ford Road where American
Revolutionary War soldiers and Confederate armies once traveled from Pennsylvania to the Catawba Indian Nation, and finally on to
the Mississippi River.
Length: Approximately
14.5 miles.
