Spann-Hammond Park

Description:
You can begin this short, level path from any of the picnic shelters
and walk around a small, scenic pond. You will walk through grassy
areas, and woodland habitat. At the far end of the pond, you will
cross a boardwalk and loop back to your starting point. You may see
the “resident” alligator, as well as turtles, snakes, and other
wildlife.
Pets
are permitted on leashes. No restrooms or facilities are available at
the park.

0.25-mile loop.

Directions:
From Exit 1 on I-20 at North Augusta, drive south on SC 230 to the
junction with US 1/US 78. Turn left onto US1/US 78, drive 1.5 miles
and turn right onto US 278/SC 125. Stay on US 278 when it splits to
the left. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn left on Spann-Hammond
(Just before Redcliffe Plantation). The park is on the right at a
switch back curve on the top of the hill.
