Beaver
Pond Nature
(Little Pee Dee State Park)
Trail Map
Description:
This easy walking trail starts at the Little Pee Dee State Park
campground and is basically out and back with a loop at one end. You
will walk through a forest of pine trees and near the end of the trail
enter a bottomland of hardwood pine trees. As the name implies, the
focal point of this trail is the Beaver Pond, where a designated
wildlife viewing area provides a place not only to observe beavers and
their handiwork, but many other animals and birds. No facilities are
provided on the trail, but water and restrooms are available at the
campground. For campers, Little Pee Dee State Park provides 50
campsites.
Length: 0.7-mile out and back trail.
Directions: From Dillon, drive south
on SC 57. Approximately 2 miles past Floydale turn left onto Dillon
County S-17-22 and continue to Little Pee Dee State Park. The trailhead
is at the campground.
