From the landing put-in on the falling tide, which is 5-6 hours behind
Charleston Harbor, and turn right into the Combahee River. During this 5
hour float you will pass the Cherokee Plantation where you can see the
main house and the boat house. The remains of rice fields are evident in
the low areas. On a warm day you might want to stop at one of the
sandbars and swim.
Insect repellent is recommended during the
warm months.

Mile 0 - Highway 21 Landing - From
Yemassee drive east on US Highway 17A/21 for approximately 2.0 miles.
Mile 2.1 - Public Landing - From
Yemassee drive east on US Highway 17A/21 for 2.6 miles and turn right
onto Public Landing Lane. The landing is at the end of the road.
Mile 9.0 - Sugar Hill Landing - From
Yemassee, drive south on River Road (S-7-33) for approximately 6.0 miles
and the road to the landing is on the left. This is a dirt landing.
Mile 11.5 - Line Canal Landing - From
Yemassee, drive east on US Highway 17A/21 for 6.5 miles and turn right
onto Colleton County S-15-66. The landing is approximately 5.5 miles at
the bridge.
