Horse Trail
Lynches
Woods
(Newberry,
SC)
Trail Map
Description:
Tucked away on the outskirts of Newberry, this quaint little forest
includes convenient access to hiking, biking, and a 6.1-mile,
moderately difficult loop trail for equestrians. The shady equestrian
trail remains popular because of its short, steep hills and some
refreshing creek crossings. The 276-acre plot of woodlands began as a
project by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. For many
years, the woods saw use primarily by just hikers and equestrians. But
mountain bikers recently discovered the area and turned it into an
especially popular destination.
