Description:
Starting from the park office in Poinsett State Park, this moderately
difficult, out and back trail winds through the swampy section of the

This well marked trail permits you to direct all of your attention to
the flora such as rustic mountain laurel, mixed with red cedar draped
with Spanish moss, and giant oaks growing alongside dogwood trees. You
will also wind through a thriving habitat for all local wildlife such

cockaded woodpecker. This is a perfect trail for small group overnight
backpack outings.
