Description:
Starting from the parking area on Santee Gun Club Road, you will experience an easy walk on mainly hunting and firebreak roads as you loop through a highland stand of old growth pine and hardwoods. The canopy of trees provides shelter from the sun and refuge for deer and a wide variety of birds including warblers, Bachman’s sparrows, and red cockaded woodpeckers. No facilities are available in this area, so bring water and insect repellant during the warmer months.
