Nature Trail
(Croft
State Natural Area)
Trail Map

Description:
From the dirt road that leads to the stables, begin this quiet, hilly,
foot-traffic-only, loop trail through varying wildlife habitats. You
will descend through mixed pine and hardwood trees, wind along the
rocky shoals of Fairforest Creek, and then loop back uphill through
the woods. Trail signs at intersections will help you find your way
back. You may see a variety wildlife including birds, deer, squirrels,
and snakes.
Restrooms are available at
the parking area near the equine supply store. Insect repellent is
recommended in warm weather. Pets are permitted on leashes.
This is a former Army
training facility. Visitors are asked to stay on trails and in recreation
areas. Do not disturb unfamiliar objects.
Length:
1.5-mile loop.
