Description: The pink-blazed Naturaland Trust Trail is a beautiful and very strenuous hike that twice descends and ascends more than 1,000 feet over its 5.8-mile length. To get to this trail from Caesars Head State Park, hike 0.8 mile on the Frank Coggins Trail. Or, from the parking area one mile northwest of Caesars Head State Park hike 2.9 miles on the Raven Cliff Falls/Gum Gap Trails. Many hikers opt to by-pass the Frank Coggins Trail, and reach the Naturaland Trust Trail from Caesars Head State Park by carefully hiking .5 mile down US 276 to a pink-blazed pipe gate on the right. However you decide to find the Naturaland Trust Trail, you won’t be disappointed. One of the area’s most diverse hikes, this trail includes a cable crossing of Matthews Creek, a spectacular view of Raven Cliff Falls from a swinging bridge, and a rock face called The Cathedral. This 120-foot, semicircular rock formation is a wondrous sight on its own, and on warm days you’ll find the water spraying down its face quite refreshing. The Naturaland Trust trail ends about 0.4 mile after you cross the bridge over Raven Cliff Falls. You can either return the way you came, or turn right and return on the Gum Gap/Raven Cliff Falls Trails to the parking area on US 276, one mile north of Caesars Head State Park.

Length: 5.8 miles one-way (This distance does not include either access trail.)

Directions: To the eastern trailhead: From Greenville, drive northwest on US 276 to Caesars Head State Park. Walk across US 276 and follow the purple blazed Frank Coggins Trail for 0.8 mile, then turn right onto the pink-blazed Naturaland Trust Trail.
