Description:
From the sign in the parking area, follow this .4-mile, peaceful,
remote trail to scenic flat shoals on the Chattooga River. You will
descend into a cool, pine, cedar, and hardwood forest as you wind down
the gravel trail to the riverbank. You may see birds, deer, snakes,
and other wildlife. This is an isolated area, so remember to bring
water, and first aid supplies, in addition to insect repellent. Pets
are permitted.

0.4-mile one-way.

Directions:
From Westminster, drive northwest on US 76. Drive approximately 17
miles and turn right onto FS Road 795. Drive .7 mile to the parking
area at the end of the road.
Hours:
Dawn to dusk.
Camping:
Primitive camping is permitted in Sumter National Forest. Contact the
information number for details.
