Trail
Lost Creek
(Harbison State
Forest)
Trail Map
Description:
From Parking Area #4, turn left onto the Firebreak Trail and cross
Lost Creek Drive
to begin this moderately strenuous multiuse loop trail. You will make a
lot of twists and turns as you pass through a forest of mixed pine and
hardwood on the edge of several neighborhoods. The trail surface ranges
from smooth dirt to rocks, roots, and some sections that can be very wet
and muddy after a rain. Though not a very technical trail for mountain
bikers, it does feature some sharp twisting turns, fast downhills, and
short climbs. Even in this somewhat urban site, you may see white-tailed
deer, and a variety of birds, lizards, and snakes.
Water and restrooms are
available at the gazebo area and the
Environmental Education
Center. This is a shared trail, so be cautious and courteous. Pets are
permitted on leashes. Insect repellent is recommended during warm
months.
