(Orangeburg County)

TrailMap

Description:
This moderately difficult section of the Palmetto Trail connects with Lake Marion Passage in Santee and the Eutaw Springs Passage in Eutawville. About midway, the town of Vance provides an opportunity to stop and get water or something to eat. Your hike/ride will be mainly over farming land, on “farm-to-market” roads, and through forested areas with pines and some very large oak trees
. During the growing season you may see, cotton, wheat, soybeans, and canola growing in the fields and roadside stands that offer fresh strawberries, peaches, and blueberries. Be sure to bring water and insect repellant during the warm months.
