Description: From
Picnic Shelter 4, you can go either direction on this moderately
difficult dirt trail. If you go to the right you will connect to the
Lake Placid Trail, which encircles Lake Placid. You can ride to the
lake, but not all the way around it. If you go left you will pass
the amphitheater and continue to a junction with the Sulphur Springs
Trail. You can a section of the Sulphur Springs trail, but only to
Mountain Lake.
If you are riding a
mountain bike, be aware of signs reading "Foot Traffic Only."
No mountain bikes on Saturday.
Restrooms
are available at the picnic shelters. Insect repellant is recommended in
warm weather. Trail may be slippery in wet weather. Pets are permitted
on a leash.
Length: 1.2 miles
Directions: From
downtown Greenville, drive north on US 25/276 and turn right onto SC
253. At the traffic light bear left to continue on SC 253. Drive for 2.5
miles and turn left onto State Park Road (Greenville County S-23-344).
The park entrance is on the left. Enter the park and drive approximately
2 miles to the large picnic area on the left.
Hours: Daily 9 a.m. to
9 p.m. during Daylight Savings Time. Saturday thru Thursday - 9 a.m. to
6 p.m.; Friday - 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during Standard Time.

with the park for campsite availability.
