Description:
With its marked trail network of approximately 65 miles, Hitchcock Woods offers many different riding opportunities in a 2,000 acre sandy woodland within the city limits of Aiken. Although open to the public, the Hitchcock Foundation manages the land as a preserve. Primarily trails and old, sandy roads, the area is open to equestrians, hikers, dog walkers, joggers, and horses with carriages.  There are also designated hunt trails with fences for equestrians.

Bicycles and motorized vehicles are not permitted.

Length: Hitchcock Woods includes a marked network of approximately 65 miles.

Fees: There are no fees, but donations to the Hitchcock Foundation are welcome.

Directions: From US 1 in Aiken, drive south on York Street and turn right onto South Boundary Street. Continue downhill and look for the parking area at a gated road.

Hours: Dawn to dusk

Camping: No camping.
