Description: Starting from the parking area, you have several choices. You can go right or left and walk around the perimeter of the preserve, or walk straight ahead to Ditch Pond. An observation area provides a place to view Ditch Pond, which is one of very few Carolina bays that has retained its natural state. Throughout the preserve you may see one or more of the following eight rare plant species, blue maidencane, Robbin’s spikerush, creeping St. John’s wort, piedmont water milfoil, awned meadow beauty, slender arrowhead, Florida bladderwort, and piedmont bladderwort.
