Description:
Starting from the main parking area, you walk several loops, either around the ball fields, the pond, or around the Leatherman Center. A mainly surfaced 0.7 mile trail circles the large ball field complex, but if you walk the perimeter of the park you will come to a dirt and grass loop that circles a pond and passes wetland woods. Look for a surprising variety of birds, as well as snakes, turtles, and other wildlife.

Insect repellant is recommended in warm weather. Pets are permitted on a leash.

Length: Approximately 2.0 miles and a 0.25 mile loop around the Leatherman Center..

Directions: In Florence, drive south on US 52/301. Turn left on Pamplico Highway (SC 51). Turn left on Freedom Boulevard. Turn left at the Freedom Florence Recreational Complex entrance and drive to the parking area north of the large ball field complex.

Hours: April thru September: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. October thru March: 9 a.m. to dark daily.

Fees: No fee.

Camping: No camping.
