Description:
From the parking area at the Bad Creek Hydroelectric Plant this short, moderately strenuous trail provides a connection to the Coon Branch Trail, Foothills Trail, and Lower Whitewater Falls Trail (via the Foothills Trail). You will pass through fields and then to a ridge where you can stop and view Lake Jocassee. At about 0.5 mile you will see the fork to the left for the Coon Branch Trail, and then after you pass over the bridge, a junction with the Foothills Trail.

Length: 0.6 mile.

Fees: No fee.

Directions: From Walhalla, drive north on SC 11 and turn left on to SC 130. Drive 10 miles to the entrance of the Duke Power Bad Creek Hydroelectric Station on the right just before the North Carolina State line. Proceed through the gate, and then follow the signs for two miles to the parking area for the Whitewater Falls and Foothills Trails.

Hours: Dawn to dusk

Camping: No camping.
