Description:
You can access a series of trails from a parking area on Beechwood Drive, or
Syndor Drive. From either parking area you can access the Cottonwood
trial, which connects to a network of shorter trails such as the
Turkey Cut , Beaverdam, Pinecone, and Highlands Trail. You will pass through a forest of mixed hardwoods, notably the
cottonwood tree from which, the main trail was named. A wetland habitat
provides a home for a variety of wildlife including water birds,
squirrels, and snakes. Benches along the way provide an opportunity to
stop and observe the wildlife or just relax and take in the scenery.
Insect repellent is recommended in warm
weather. Pets are permitted on a leash.
Length:
A series of trails with the 3.5 mile Cottonwood Trial being the longest.
Fees:
No fee.
Directions:
From I-26 in Spartanburg, turn
east onto US 29.Drive for approximately 6.0 miles and turn right onto
Fernwood Drive. Drive for approximately 0.5 mile and turn left onto
Beechwood Drive and a parking area is on the right, or turn right onto
Syndor Drive and park on the right just before the bridge.

Dawn to dusk.
