TrailMap

Description:
Begin this easy walking, dirt and grass, loop at the lake swimming area. From the parking area you will descend on a stone walk, pass in front of the swimming pavilion, cross the spillway, and pass the waterwheel on your left. You will wind around a dirt path that offers fishing access between the lake and rental cabins. A bench in a quiet natural area on the far end of the lake marks the halfway point of the trail. You may see fox, raccoon, snakes, Canada geese, woodpeckers, and a variety of other birds and wildlife. Remember to wear insect repellent in warm weather. Pets are permitted on leashes. Restrooms and water are available at the Park Office, and pavilion area.

Length: 1-mile loop.

Directions: From Walhalla, at the junction of SC 183, drive 8 miles northwest on SC 28 and bear right onto SC 107. Continue 2.5 miles on SC107 and turn right at the Oconee State Park entrance. After the fee station, turn left and park in the area below the park Office.
