Description
: Begin this easy-walking, 1 mile out-and-back trail at the end of the parking area beside the volley ball court. You will pass through an open field on a broad dirt path scattered with wood chips, wind through the pine woods, and end up at the edge of a pond where you can watch for alligators, water birds, snakes and other wildlife. As you retrace your steps, you may want to review the trail’s interpretive signs to check your knowledge of deer, armadillo, turtles, skinks, possum, raccoons, and squirrels. Remember to wear insect repellent during the spring and summer months. Restrooms are located next to the parking area. Pets are allowed on leashes.

Length: 1.0 mile one-way.

Directions: From Hampton, drive west on SC 363 for approximately 3.2 miles and turn left onto Hampton County S-25-510. Drive approximately 1.3 miles and turn right at the entrance to Lake Warren State Park. The trailhead is at the back of the first parking area on the left.
