Doko Meadows is the 22-acre park managed by the Town of Blythewood featuring a scenic walking trail that travels along a pond and through a wooded area—the paved path turns into a quiet, shaded boardwalk offering nature observation.

Dorothy B. Kearns Park is a nice natural area which has been protected from development along the marshes of Mount Pleasant. There are several points that offer great views of the wetland and of the Wando River.

Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune was born to former slaves in rural Mayesville in Sumter County, the youngest of 17 children and the only one born into freedom. In Bethune's hometown, there is a lovely park named in her honor, as well as a wonderful nature trail that can be used for an afternoon stroll or bike ride.
