The East Fork Trail has two trailheads: one at the Chattooga Picnic Area adjacent to the Walhalla Fish Hatchery and one at Burrells Ford. Starting at the picnic area, East Fork Trail is an easy 2.5-mile hike along the north bank of the scenic, fast-moving east fork of the Chattooga River.

The 4,600-acre preserve includes almost three miles of undeveloped, breathtaking beachfront that you’ll never forget. It only takes about a half-mile to walk from the parking area to the beach along the Pockoy Island Trail, but then you can continue exploring as far as you want along the beach.
