An easy walk or ride through a maritime forest and marshland in well-protected preserve. The preserve has a 4,000 year old Indian shell ring, a wild flower meadow with dozens of flower varieties, fresh water lakes suitable for fishing, and a bountiful bird habitant. Shade is plentiful during the summer months. Restrooms, drinking water, and a picnic area are available in the center of the preserve at Fish Island.

This trail offers scenic views of the Catawba River and is a great location for a variety of outdoor activities. The trail features rolling terrain with occasional steep grades. Along the trail are benches, trash cans and pet waste stations and several small bridges. This trail is in close proximity to restaurants and several cycling facilities in the Riverwalk development. Mountain bike trails with varying degrees of difficulty can be accessed from the PMC Trail.

Saluda Riverwalk was formally established as a city park in June 2021. Even before this park was formally established, it had been a recreational playground for several years. This is a perfect location for kayakers and tubers to paddle and float along the river, especially with the new ease-of-entry access point below the boardwalk near the main Candi Lane parking lot.
