The Bubble Gum Rail Trail is a fun 3.7-mile paved out and back TRACK Trail Mini! Families can walk, run, skip, bike, or scooter along. Located in the small town of Belton, South Carolina, the Bubble Gum Rail Trail gets it's name from a fun, old tradition. When the trail was still working train tracks, a certain conductor would toss out pieces of bubble gum to the local children gathered alongside the tracks!
Starting at the local library, the Bubble Gum trail runs through the middle of downtown Belton. While exploring along the trail, be on the lookout for workout stations, local artwork underneath the bridge, a playground, and signs with more information about the history of the rail trail! Visitors can do a short out-and-back or explore the length of the 3.7 mile trail.
This trail is an official Kids in Parks TRACK Trail. Kids in Parks is a FREE, national program that connects families to the outdoors through hands-on exploration. Self-guided TRACK Trail activities and smartphone e-Adventures turn any outing into a fun-filled, discovery-packed adventure. TRACK your adventures to earn prizes along the way!
