On this easy to moderate trail you will enjoy a leisurely hike on old logging roads through a forest of hardwoods, white pine and thickets of rhododendren and mountain laurel.

Loading Trails

After a 1.4-mile hike on the Raven Cliff Falls Trail, you will reach the junction and eastern trailhead of the Gum Gap Trail. This easy to moderate trail is considered a leg of the Foothills Trail, since it runs concurrent with the Foothills Trail for its entire length. You will enjoy a leisurely hike on old logging roads through a forest of hardwoods, white pine and thickets of rhododendren and mountain laurel.

Directions:

From Greenville: Drive northwest on US 276 to Caesars Head State Park. Continue past the park entrance and the parking area for the Raven Cliff Falls Trail is on the right, approximately 1 mile further. Walk across US 276 and hike 1.4 miles on the Raven Cliff Falls Trail to the Gum Gap Trail.
