Loading Trails

From any parking area, begin this network of accessible, walking/biking trails that pass through lakeside, wetland and wooded habitats. Watch for a variety of wildlife including ducks, heron, turtles and snakes. Remember to wear insect repellent in warm weather. Bikes, and roller blades are not permitted on docks or decks. Pets must remain on leashes. Motorized vehicles are restricted to roadways. Restrooms are located at the Park Center and picnic areas. Bike rentals are available at the Picnic Center.

January - April 8 a.m. - Sunset | May - Labor Day 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. | September & October 8 a.m. - Sunset | November & December 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Directions:

From Charleston: Drive west on US 17 and turn left on SC 171 south (Folly Road). Drive approximately 1 mile and turn right onto SC 700. Drive 1.5 miles and turn left onto Riverland Drive. Drive 1.7 miles and turn right at the James Island County Park sign. The entrance gate is .5 mile straight ahead.
