Summary:

Trail users will ascend gently from the Pinnacle Pass Trail—on the John Sloan Trail—before the pink-blazed trail ends at the Rim of the Gap Trail.

Loading Trails

The John Sloan Trail serves as a connector trail that leads to the Rim of the Gap Trail from the Pinnacle Pass Trail. You will ascend gently on the John Sloan Trail as you pass near the top of a summit on the rim of the gorge. After the ascent, the pink-blazed trail ends at the Rim of the Gap Trail. Registering with the park before using these trails is mandatory.

Directions:

From Greenville: Drive northwest on US 276 to the junction of US 276 and SC 11. Continue approximately 1.5 miles and turn right onto River Falls Road (Greenville County S-23-97), which changes to Jones Gap Road, and continue to Jones Gap State Park. Rim of the Gap intersects the John Sloan Trail (#21 - pink blaze).
