This excellent hiking and mountain biking trail is an official segment of the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail that runs along the southern shore of Lake Whelchel in Gaffney.

The Overmountain Victory Trail is a looped hiking/biking trail that travels along the shoreline and offers great views of Lake Whelchel. The Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail includes sections of walkable pathway and traces the route used by patriot militia during the pivotal Kings Mountain campaign of 1780.

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Note: The boat landing gate is subject to close, so check with the staff on site to find out when the gate will be closed before heading out on the trail.
