Lucas Park provides nature trails and gardens, in addition to a playground, picnic shelter and area, as well as two tennis courts.

Loading Trails

From the entrance on Santee Drive, follow the old red-brick walkway through a neighborhood park with fragrant gardens, and shady cypress, pine, and hardwood trees. You will see squirrels, a variety of birds, and possibly a snake or two. Side spurs lead to other entrances on near-by streets. When you reach the tennis courts and playground, you can return the way you came.

Remember to wear insect repellant in warm weather. Pets are permitted on leashes. Restrooms are not available at the park.

Hours: One hour before dawn to one hour after dusk.

Directions:

From the Junction of I­95 and I­20 in Florence, drive east on David McLeod Boulevard (Business Spur I-20) and turn left on Palmetto Street (US 76). Drive approximately 0.3 mile and turn right onto Cherokee Road. Drive approximately 1.8 miles and turn right onto Santee Drive. Drive 0.2 mile and park near the brick pillars on the right.
