From the parking area, begin this level, gravel and dirt, out-and-back hiking trail. Follow the wooden posts along the row of pine trees, pass between the two posts at the end of the lawn, and descend the grassy slope. (Watch for fire-ant mounds in the tall grass.) Turn right, and continue a short distance until you reach the gravel trail. You will cross a creek and wind beneath a canopy of sycamore, oak, and cedar where you may see hawks, squirrels, snakes, and a variety of other wildlife.

Insect repellant is recommended in warm weather. Pets are permitted on a leash.

Hours: Dawn to dusk
