The Splice Trail undulates gently through the western and mid sections but has some short steep climbs on the eastern end. This trail is used to access Whippoorwill Trail, Laurel Group Trail and Knot Trail, and runs the length of the road inside Poinsett State Park. The Splice was a needed through trail from neighboring Manchester State Forest to access Campbell's Pond Trail to the north of Poinsett and to take bike traffic off of Park Road.

Free Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) is available at and near the park office building.
