This is a series of interconnecting, easy to moderate natural surface trails, part of which follow the route of a narrow gauge rail system used by the Appalachian Lumber Company in the 1920s. You will walk through a wooded area along Town Creek where you may see deer and maybe an occasional black bear. A playground at the trailhead provides some unique structures for children to play on.

Bicycles are allowed, but not motorized vehicles.

Hours: Dawn to dusk

Directions:

From downtown Pickens: Drive north on Ann Street (US 178) for 0.7 mile and turn left onto Homestead Road. The parking area and playground are on the left or you can continue to Sangamo Road and turn left and the recreation center is on the left.
