The trail begins along a wide jeep road through open forest, crossing a small stream in a very short distance. Once across the stream, the wide forest road you are following bears to the right, with a narrower, single track hiking trail bearing to the left. Going right will take you along the Wattacoo Lake Loop. Bearing left will take you along the Mountain Bridge Passage Trail.

Blue Ridge Electric Co-Op Passage winds through remote and rugged areas, and rewards hikers with an abundance of native flowers and wildlife, mountaintop vistas, waterfalls, and an impressive boulder field.

The Tom Miller Trail is a peaceful connector from the Raven Cliff Falls parking area to the Silver Steps parking area, which was added along with the re-routed Tom Miller Trail in 2020.

Oconee Passage begins in Oconee State Park and ends at Oconee Station State Historical Site, a backcountry military garrison and trading post from the 1790s. From the park, the passage follows a scenic roadbed that pinches into a path along the mountain ridgeline.

This spectacular trail ambles along one of the highest ridges in the State and is the longest trail in the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area. The Pinnacle Pass Trail is quite strenuous, but offers one of the best views in the East.

Pleasant Ridge Park is home to the popular JFA Trail, which is a mostly smooth-rolling, hard-packed singletrack that borders the perimeter of the park. The park also offers the Leroy Smith Trail, Sassy's Pass and the Mill Creek Path.

Middle Saluda Passage is resplendent with waterfalls, dramatic (and challenging) elevation changes, and diverse ecosystems. The passage (marked with Palmetto Trail signs) connects about 14 miles of existing trails (with multiple-colored blazes) in the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area.

On the way up to the Sassafras Mountain observation tower — traveling on F. Van Clayton Memorial Highway — don’t miss the superb Beech Bottom Falls Trail sign and parking area on the left! The trail features excellent footbridges and an observation deck for viewing the falls.
