Loading Trails

This straight, easy-to-hike, mile long forested trail connects the Rivers Bridge Battlefield with the Rivers Bridge Civil War Memorial Grounds. It follows the route that the Confederate troops followed on February 3rd, 1865 in their retreat from the Rivers Bridge Battlefield to the railroad junction in Branchville, SC. The Rivers Bridge Nature Trail also adjoins the Retreat Road.

Hours: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Directions:

From Bamberg: Drive southeast on US 301. Drive 15 miles and turn left onto Bamberg County S-5-31. The park entrance is 6.5 miles on the right. From the park entrance drive 1.0 mile on Bamberg County Road S­5­8 and turn right to the parking area.
