Loading Trails

The nature trail winds through the old campground road and leads in to the natural setting of a sandhills region forest with large pines, old hardwoods and small underbrush. The nature trail is located on the eastern side of the memorial causeway road.  Benches are placed on the trail to rest or to enjoy the natural environment of the park. This nature trail links with the Historic Retreat Road.

Hours: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Directions:

From Bamberg: Drive southeast on US 301. Drive 15 miles and turn left onto Bamberg County S-5-31. The park entrance is 6.5 miles on the right. From the park entrance drive 1.0 mile on Bamberg County Road S­5­8 and turn right to the parking area.
