The Rocky Creek Trail is a scenic 1.5-mile trail that runs along Rocky Creek, a tributary of the Catawba River. Most of the pathway is level and covered with gravel and can be enjoyed by hiking or biking.

The Rocky Gap Trail in South Carolina and the Willis Knob Trail in Georgia combine to offer some of the most scenic horseback riding in the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains. Winding across deeply dissected ridges, the trails descend into the beautiful Chattooga Wild and Scenic River corridor.

The Nature Trail starts at the kiosk by the picnic shelter. It runs about 1/2 mile through the woods and ends up on the far side of the back lawn behind the mansion.

Dorchester County Parks and Recreation Department operates Richard H. Rosebrock Park, which is a seventy acre natural area offering 1.5 miles of hiking trails adjacent to the Ashley State Scenic River, and located near the intersection of Highways 165 and 61.

The 30th passage to be completed along the Palmetto Trail — which spans nearly 500 miles across the state of South Carolina from the mountains to the sea — Ross Mountain Passage is a 5-mile hiking and biking trail that connects Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park to Oconee State Park.

This round-trip hike of approximately 5.9 miles begins and ends at the Sassafras Mountain parking area. The bonus of this trip is the short walk to the new observation deck atop Sassafras Mountain, the highest point in SC, which affords magnificent views of the surrounding area.
