The Cherokee Path is a 1.5 mile trail from point to point. It was once a direct route for traders and trappers, Native Americans, and settlers to exchange merchandise between the backcountry and the Carolina coast. Today, you can hike the existing Cherokee Path at Ninety Six just as Native Americans and explorers.

This 1.5 mile paved multi-use trail is located in Cherry Park which is Rock Hill’s premier softball/baseball facility that also includes a large playground, picnic shelters, restrooms and other park amenities. Cherry Park can be enjoyed year-round and provides athletic programs for both youth and adults. This park trail is near Hargett Park, and connects to a bike route that takes riders through the Winthrop Lake area and to Glencairn Garden via quiet neighborhood streets.

Chicken Creek is accessed by launching at McConnell’s Landing on McConnell’s Landing Road, off of Forest Service Road 204B in the Francis Marion National Forest. Paddle about 4 miles down the Santee River from the landing, until you reach the mouth of Chicken Creek, on the right hand side of the river.
