After a portage of approximately 300 yards on the Palmetto Trail, put in on the south side of the Henry Brown Bridge and paddle south. Since there are so many possible ways you might go, such as old rice field canals, Santee Cooper has placed small diamond shaped signs to help keep you on course. At approximately halfway, there is a cleared area for primitive camping and the creek opens a bit for easier paddling.

During this 5 hour float you will pass the Cherokee Plantation where you can see the main house and the boat house. On a warm day you might want to stop at one of the sandbars and swim.

This 1.3-mile passage of the Palmetto Trail begins on the campus of the University of South Carolina Upstate campus in Spartanburg, SC, and dives into a wooded forest on the banks of the Lawson’s Fork Creek.

V.I.M. Park is an easily accessed park that would be great place to eat your lunch and walk around the short, tree lined crushed gravel loop.

Va-Du-Mar McMillan Park is located in the Boiling Springs community and there is a nice, paved, walking path for visitors to enjoy for a nice stroll or jog.

Vereen Memorial Gardens has been a bit of a "Hidden Jewel" for 30 years. The park features numerous hiking trails and wooden boardwalks that extend across several beautiful salt marshes and small islands, with a nice gazebo that overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway.

Greer Veterans Park is a memorial park featuring commerorative plaques, a fountain and displays of military equipment. The park also provides a lighted and paved walking path.

The City of Greer's Victor Park offers a ball field, gym, playground, as well as a paved walking trail that loops around Victor Field.

On this flat, paved, multi-use, oval path through a park area, you can run or walk counter-clockwise on the interior of the path, or skate board or roller blade clockwise on the outer part.
