The Wild Mint Nature Trail is a one-mile, self-guided nature trail located at Baker Creek State Park.

The NWTF Nature Trail is a steep, multiple-loop path through mixed woodland and open fields. Interpretive signs mark the Tenant Farm site, Erosion Gullies, Rock Crossing, and other historical and natural land features.

The South Carolina Park Service manages a piece of land off of highway 11 between Caesar’s Head and Jones Gap state parks called Wildcat Wayside. The short trail begins with a steep set of stairs climbing right beside a small, but beautiful, waterfall.

This is a great trip to just enjoy the outdoors, since there aren’t many signs of human habitation, but an abundance of birds and animals. This is a relatively leisure float, but you may encounter some shallow water right at the start and some fast water as the river narrows just past the halfway point. Neither of theses areas should present any problems for canoes or kayaks.
