Santee National Wildlife Refuge consists of four separate units scattered along the eastern shore of Lake Marion. Hiking along the Wrights Bluff Nature Trail (Bluff Unit) gives you some great views of Cantey Bay, the wildlife farm fields, and numerous wetlands.

Along the way on the Sculptured Oak Nature Trail, there is a branch-off to the Yaupon Trail, which is an 0.5-mile alternative trail. The Yaupon Trail ends at the beach, which is then accessible by boardwalk.

Yellow Branch Falls, located in the Yellow Branch Picnic Area above Walhalla, is not what you expect when you hear the words "falls" and "branch" in the same title.

Nestled in a mixed pine/hardwood stand, this picnic area is beautiful any time of year. Yellow Branch Creek is located across from the picnic area and is easily experienced by a short-loop hiking trail.
