Memorial Park is located in downtown Sumter in the historical district. Here you can find wide open space with lots of shade and a walking path surrounding the park.

Regarded as the crown jewel of Mount Pleasant, Memorial Waterfront Park offers many amenities including plenty of lawn for picnics and family fun, and nice paved walking path, a nautical-themed playground, the River Watch Café for sandwiches, ice cream and souvenirs, and a 1,250-foot pier extending out into Charleston Harbor.

The MESA Soccer Complex is home to the CESA (Carolina Elite Soccer Academy) and is a top notch sports tourism destination. The Complex also offers visitors a nice and paved walking path, as well as a playground area.

Middle Saluda Passage is resplendent with waterfalls, dramatic (and challenging) elevation changes, and diverse ecosystems. The passage (marked with Palmetto Trail signs) connects about 14 miles of existing trails (with multiple-colored blazes) in the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area.

The impressive Midlands Mountain Trail climbs up a small ridge before descending to the river bottom. A more difficult route bypasses the river bottom for more of a challenge.

Looping around the Hargett Park facility, the Mike Morgan Trail is great for a short dog walk or jog. During certain seasons, users can spectate sports during their visit.

The Mill Creek Pass Trail connects the Pinnacle Mountain and Ridge trails. If you ascend the rugged Pinnacle Mountain Trail to the sign just above Mill Creek Falls, you can turn right and follow the Mill Creek Pass Trail to the Ridge Trail.
