SC Trails

Brittlebank is a 10-acre park on the Ashley River, off Lockwood Boulevard, that offers trails and paved pathways that are perfect for walking or biking. The park also provides a playground, benches and picnic tables, plus a fishing pier with a boat dock.

Starting from the Peak access, you will enjoy a leisurely float on the tree lined Broad River. In the spring you can also enjoy blooming Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies in the shallows.

Everyday, Brookgreen offers a selection of tours, programs, and exhibits for all ages. You may stroll through the gardens on a guided tour or explore these beautiful spaces on your own.

There is a very nice rubberized walking path provided at Brooks McCall Park in Florence County, as well as a fun playground for the kids, a picnic shelter and bathrooms.

Brookwood Park, located in Landrum, provides visitors with a nice and scenic walking trail, as well as a playground area and picnic shelter.

The 1.35-mile long Buckwalter Place Greenway Trail provides residents and visitors with a place to get in touch with nature while exercising.

Bull Sluice is a Class Five rapid on the Chattooga River. From the center's parking lot, follow the trail down the hill to where it forks (remember you got to walk that hill coming back).  Take the right fork through the woods to the river below (the left fork take you to a beach area downstream of the rapids). 

This trail winds through forested hill and valley terrain. Points of interest include old cemeteries, wagon roads, and plantation sites. Opportunities also exist to view various wildlife species and abundant plant life. With interconnecting loops, riders have an opportunity for various length rides. Hikers and mountain bikers are also welcome.

A popular place for boaters, this Lake Murray peninsula is home to several hiking trails. There is no parking—the area is accessible only by boat or bike.
